Homemade Chicken Burger Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
- 4 burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and your favorite condiments (e.g., mayo, ketchup, mustard)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken Patties:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix everything together until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as it can make the burgers tough.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Make them slightly larger than the buns since they'll shrink a bit while cooking.
Cook the patties:
- Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
- Once hot, add the chicken patties. Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown and cooked through.
- If you prefer, you can also cook the patties on a preheated grill for the same amount of time.
Assemble the burgers:
- Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in the skillet for a minute or two.
- Spread your desired condiments on the buns.
- Place the chicken patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, or any other toppings you like.
- Cover with the top half of the bun.
Serve:
- Serve the chicken burgers hot with your favorite sides like fries, coleslaw, or a simple salad.
Enjoy your homemade chicken burgers!
